Swastika Mukherjee and Co-stars Debut as Rappers in ‘Kaalipotka’ Title Song Alongside Jojo Mukherjee

Bangla ZEE5, launched the cracker of a title track of their new web series Kaalipotka, setting the tone for a narrative that is bold, dark and unapologetically intense. The song, titled ‘Kaalipotka’, acts as a sonic extension of the series’ themes, blending evocative music with striking lyrical expression.

What sets the title track apart is its unapologetic authenticity and raw verses, reaching a striking crescendo through acclaimed singer Jojo Mukherjee’s powerful vocals. The rap segments are performed by the lead actresses, Swastika Mukherjee, Shruti Das, Himika Bose and Sreya Bhattacharya, whose commanding delivery adds an arresting intensity to the track. Together, the vocals and rap articulate themes of strength, agency and defiance, asserting women’s voices with confidence and subtly challenging long-standing structures of societal construct.

Composed by Kuntal De and penned by lyricist, Victor Mukherjee, the title track fuses haunting melodies with contemporary rap, creating a soundscape that mirrors the layered, complex world of the characters of the series. The lyrics cut deep, reflecting themes of power, defiance and inner turmoil that lie at the heart of series itself.

The title track also features the principal cast, Swastika Mukherjee, Shruti Das, Himika Bose, Sreya Bhattacharya and Anirban Chakrabarti capturing the mood and mystique of the show. Directed by Abhirup Ghosh, the series promises a gripping narrative and the title song serves as a powerful introduction to its universe.
