ITC Sunrise Spices marked the climax of its master project Sunrise Pujor Satkahon by the spectacular release of a Coffee Table Book. The book was launched in a prestigious company of renowned actor and director Parambrata Chattopadhyay, renowned actress Ishaa Saha, eminent culinary personality Mrs. Sudipa Chatterjee and much-known Durga Puja theme artist Mr. Anirban Pandalwala, and Mr. Piyush Mishra, Business Head, ITC Sunrise Spices.
This year ITC Sunrise Spices embraced the spirit of the whole Bengal by their special event, Sunrise Pujor Satkahon, which welcomed puja committees of the entire state to present their stories that truly represented the spirit of the festivity of Bengal outside Kolkata. During the campaign over 1500 puja committees of towns, villages and districts took part and presented impressive stories which give evidence of the devotion of Bengal, his art and his spirit of togetherness.
The project resulted in a Coffee Table Book that comprises 250 distinct and motivational photographs and narratives all of which showcase the customs, creativity, and people values that characterize Durga Puja. Para initiatives entirely women led, century-old traditions that have been passed down through generations, neighbourhood initiatives that bind whole communities - each of the stories gives us an insight into the heritage of Bengal. Collectively, these tales make sure that the voices of Bengal paras that tend to be based on local pride will now be deposited as a legacy of state festivals.
Mr. Piyush Mishra, Business Head, ITC Sunrise Spices, spoke on the campaign and said: “Durga Puja is not just a festival, it is integral to Bengal’s identity – a celebration of devotion, togetherness, and artistry. With Sunrise Pujor Satkahon, we set out to showcase and document these fascinating stories beyond Kolkata, ensuring that every para’s pride and creativity is remembered. The Coffee Table Book is not only a tribute to the unique 250 pujos but also a cultural archive that will preserve these stories for generations to come.”
Stunning Acclaimed actor and director Mr. Parambrata Chattopadhyay said, “Durga Puja is one of the world’s most unique cultural expressions, and its richness goes far beyond Kolkata. What impressed me most about Sunrise Pujor Satkahon is how it has captured the unheard stories of Bengal beyond Kolkata – the paras, towns, and villages where traditions thrive quietly with equal devotion. This Coffee Table Book is a meaningful tribute to that spirit, capturing memories that deserve to be cherished.”
The event was concluded by the identification of the best pujas, screening of a short campaign film following the storytelling and a popular vote and the identification of the winner and the Sindoor Khela, which included the production of the Coffee Table Book.
