Darshana Banik Graces Grand Launch of Step Inn Dhaba & Restaurant on Durgapur Expressway

Kolkata, 27 November 2025: Step Inn Dhaba & Restaurant marked its grand launch with the introduction of a fresh, thoughtfully designed food destination that blends authentic flavours, vibrant dhaba-style ambience, and a unique one-stop setup. The property features a multicuisine restaurant, a classic dhaba space, a dedicated tea counter, a takeaway section, and most notably, Swayam Pakana — a special self-cooking facility created for truck drivers and highway commuters.

The grand launch event took place on Thursday, 27th November 2025, at the HPCL Auto Care Center on the Durgapur Expressway in Hooghly. The occasion was graced by the presence of Tollywood actress Ms. Darshana Banik, Ramesh Pattanaik,DGM Highway, and Shri Prodip Prosun Roy, Chief Regional Manager, HPCL – Durgapur Retail RO.

The Co-founders of Step Inn Dhaba & Restaurant, Mrs. Shawli Mukherjee and Mr. Debroop Dutta, welcomed guests and shared the vision that inspired the initiative.

Speaking at the event, Shawli Mukherjee, Co-founder of Step Inn, expressed that the concept was born from a deep love for wholesome food and India’s vibrant highway culture. She shared that Step Inn aims to create a warm, accessible, and welcoming space where travellers, families, and truck drivers can enjoy good food with comfort and dignity.

Reflecting on the launch, Debroop Dutta, Co-founder of Step Inn, highlighted that the endeavour is rooted in authenticity and inclusivity. He emphasised that the introduction of the Swayam Pakana facility enables truck drivers and long-distance travellers to prepare meals just the way they prefer — an uncommon experience along India’s highways that brings a sense of home to the road.
